The Olympic production facility of the Los Angeles Times is seeking a Senior Electro Tech to join the team.
Designation as a Senior Electro Tech requires demonstrated proficiency and expertise in the application of technical knowledge to complete complex, critical tasks and projects in the key production departments in Operations. Incumbents in senior positions possess sufficient depth in most, if not all, of the critical areas that enable them to assume leadership roles on projects.

Demonstrated expertise and ability required to diagnose and troubleshoot:
Using computer diagnostic tools and other test equipment trouble shoot and resolve complex problems on all electrical and electronic systems in the pressroom. Incumbents should be able to use technical knowledge and diagnostic ability to track problems to a single failed component in a timely manner.
Another measure of a senior electro tech is to use knowledge and analytical ability to contribute process improvements and resolution of chronic problems in key production areas.
Packaging and Distribution
Incumbents must demonstrate the ability to resolve the most complex problems in the master control system, troubleshoot and resolve communications problems between all electronic, optical, and electric components of the bulk handling system. Senior electro techs will demonstrate a thorough understanding of complete, interrelated systems within the P&D department.
Individual needs a full understanding of the distribution of electrical power throughout the entire facility. Individuals must be able to transfer switchgear from DWP/SCE to Emergency generators. Also included into this responsibility, one must be familiar with the location of switchgear, load distribution and circuit breakers.
Completion of an industrial electrical apprenticeship
Completion of Industrial electrical or electronics trade school
7-10 years of industrial electrical work experience required
